Elusive 1727 Issue of the Rio Mint
Joao V gold 12800 Reis 1727-R, KM140, Russo-193, Gomes-138.01, AU Details, small scratch on reverse. Diagonal or "Corda" reeding. Greatly appealing bust with the coin in overall choice AU condition. Striking of Dobras began at all mints in 1727, but both the Rio and Minas mint had small mintages that first year.From The RLM Collection
