Pedro I bronze Award Medal 1830 Extremely Fine - Holed, VC-25, Meili-73. 44mm, 43.06 g. By T. H.(?) Awarded by the Imperial Brazilian Mining Association. Obv. Bareheaded bust left, in military attire. Rev. Legend in four lines surrounded by circular legend. An award medal which tended to be worn, as the handful or so known are usually encountered holed for suspension. An exceptional portrait of the king, and an important piece as an early medal in his reign. Some deposits and discoloration to the surfaces, but an overall attractive example of this very rare type.Ex. Heritage 3035 (9/2014), lot 30149
