Pedro II Counterstamped 500 Reis ND (1688) XF40 NGC, KM438.3, LMB-104, Gomes-117.02. Type IV crowned "500" countermark (AU Standard), struck on a Portuguese João IV 400 Reis from the Porto mint. A captivating larger issue in a commendable state of preservation, the counterstamp fully struck onto a typical mid-grade representative.From the Vila Rica Collection
