Pedro II gold 2000 Reis 1699-(R) AU Details (Tooled) NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM97, LMB-29, cf. Guimaraes-1699-Ba.1 (unlisted variety). PORTVG.REX. variety. Showing detailed motifs and toned gold surfaces. Guimarães notes in his reference that this variety was struck with Bahia mint dies, re-punched on the date, and the crosslets in the legends turned into dots, though he only lists the legend "PORTVG x REX x", and thus is unlisted as such.
