Description

A Beauty from the RLM Collection

Pedro II gold 4000 Reis 1699/95-(R) UNC Details (Reverse Tooled) NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM98, LMB-31c, Guimaraes-1699/95-1Ba.1. First type. "PORTVGxREX? (inverted ?)" variety. The key of the series, made with both Bahia dies, the reverse having the two digits re-engraved. An impressive survivor, showcasing lustrous velveteen fields and free of wear throughout, with only the mark to the left of the cross, perhaps an attempt to remove some kind of crust that it may have had. The sole piece graded by NGC.
