Variety Unlisted in Guimaraes' Reference

Pedro II gold 4000 Reis 1700-(R) AU Details (Brushed) NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM98, LMB-32b, cf. Guimaraes-1700-10a (different obverse). Third type. Date between fleuron and dot; "PORTVGAL.REX +" variety. A good study piece, not evaluated in Guimaraes's book, struck with a seemingly new obverse die and the reverse die of variety 10a. Showing bold motifs and a fair amount of luster remaining for the assigned grade.
