The most admirable and perhaps even defining feature of this gorgeous specimen is the absolute superior quality of its strike, executed so fully as to leave every detail rendered to pinpoint clarity. When taken together with its bright shimmering fields, lacking any sort of meaningful problems or distractions, the result is an expression of history and preservation very rarely encountered with mint products of the period. This observation is borne out by population data from the grading services in the case of this year and type, with only one other example tied with this coin at the MS64 level across both PCGS and NGC, and only a single example certified finer.Ex.
