Pedro I gold 4000 Reis 1828-B, KM369.2, Russo-605, XF Details - Ex-Jewelry. 7.16gm. A rare type and date from the Bahia Mint with apparent damage from jewelry usage on both sides, but details that remain clear throughout. A scan of digitally archived auction records, as well as major sales of Brazilian coinage over the past 20 years confirms extreme rarity for this piece, with the only sighting being in the 1997 Norweb sale where that piece was described as a "holed and plugged fine". A specialist's dream and possibly the only chance to acquire this issue for the next decade...or more!
