    Description

An Exceptional Survivor of a Rare Issue

Pedro I gold 6400 Reis 1828-B, KM370.2, Russo-608, AU53 NGC. Mintage: 423. Attractive for the grade with gleaming surfaces that highlight few marks and legends that are adorned with whispers of peach-colored tone. The strike, on this and essentially all Bahia mint 6400s of this date, is short of perfect, and while the peripheral legends rise to full completeness, some design bluntness is apparent in the obverse and reverse centers. When all is considered, this is certainly among the finest survivors of the date, and it is particularly notable as a problem-free example. Expect fierce competition.
