Description

Aluminum Pattern Undated Heaton mint Cent, Struck with a reeded edge otherwise as KM-2. Comes with a ticket stating that it is ex: Farouk collection. It has wear, and is an XF coin that probably spent some time in a mint official's pocket. With everything that is different about it, it would make sense that it was struck before the 1882 coins as some sort of test piece. Not in Pridmore or Remick, and likely Unique. The reeded edge also points to a pre-1882 date as the copper coins of Straits Settlements pre-1884 were struck with a reeded edge and it is not much of a stretch to think that this would be preferred initially for B.N.B.
