Description

1914/3-S 5C AU55 ANACS. FS-101, formerly FS-014.89. In The Complete Guide to Buffalo Nickels, David Lange writes that the 1914/3 overdate from the San Francisco Mint is extremely difficult to identify, and this piece it no exception. It does, however, feature the characteristic faint die crack beneath the denomination, and has a faint trace of the top of the 3. Medium gray patina covers both sides of this briefly circulated piece, which Lange states is significantly less available than its P-mint counterpart. A small spot to the left of the bison's head is noted.
