1914-D 5C MS66+ PCGS. CAC. The dual endorsements of the PCGS
Plus designation and the CAC green label are not to be ignored when
evaluating this Premium Gem nickel. Certainly, the exceptionally
sharp strike and satiny, nickel-gray patina with lilac overtones
convey impressive eye appeal. The lightly textured surfaces are for
all purposes unmarked save for two or three inconsequential,
microscopic spots. It is the technical quality that sets this piece
apart from other candidates, as confirmed by the high-end grade --
one of two nickels at this level to receive such an honor from
