Description

1916 Buffalo Nickel, MS67
Registry-Grade Example

1916 5C MS67 PCGS. Buffalo nickels were mass-produced throughout the entire run of the series at all mints, as this denomination was heavily used in small purchases, pay phones, and in banking transactions. Uncirculated examples survive, but most show light to moderate bagmarks or surface scrapes from being stacked in rolls. This Superb Gem 1916 coin is conditionally scarce. Under a loupe, the satiny surfaces reveal no abrasions, and the lemon-gold and mint-green luster is luminous. Only slight strike softness is seen on the bison's shoulder. PCGS Population: 57 in 67 (8 in 67+), 1 finer (3/26).
