Finest Certified 1916 Five Cent, MS68
Breathtaking Eye Appeal

1916 5C MS68 NGC. The Mint State 68 1916 Buffalo nickel offering in the present lot is the finest example graded either by NGC or PCGS! The underlying reasons for this lofty designation become readily apparent upon examination. First, each side exhibits a marvelous display of softy toned shades. Waves of jade, rose, and yellow-gold flank the obverse border, transitioning to ice-blue and orange-gold in the central area, while a melange of lavender, sky-blue, and orange-gold drape the reverse. Second, both sides radiate intense luster that appears to reach out to the observer. Third, a solid strike lends sharp definition to the design elements, including the Indian's hair and braid, areas that are sometimes soft. Finally, immaculate preservation shows on both obverse and reverse; no mentionable contacts or spots are revealed under close inspection with a loupe. These attributes combine in synergistic fashion to yield breathtaking eye appeal that is rarely seen on any Buffalo nickel issue, and will consequently generate spirited bidding.
