Description

1916-S Nickel, Delicately Toned MS66
Rarely Encountered Finer

1916-S 5C MS66 PCGS. Available through MS64, the 1916-S Buffalo nickel becomes remarkably scarce in finer grades. This Premium Gem is rare, and only a handful of higher-grade coins are known. Some die erosion is seen in the fields, but the strike is nonetheless bold. Warm champagne toning over each side has interior tinges of ice-blue and lavender. Population: 37 in 66 (3 in 66+), 5 finer (2/16).
