Description

1917-D Nickel, Sharp MS65

1917-D 5C MS65 PCGS. CAC. This is an unusually sharp 1917-D Buffalo nickel, displaying satiny luster and light golden toning. The obverse shows minor die erosion in the fields and recesses, but the reverse is from a fresh die and displays the corresponding clarity of detail. The '17-D is elusive in Gem condition, and PCGS has seen only 22 finer examples. CAC: 15 in 65, 3 finer (3/16).
