    1917-D 5C MS65 PCGS. CAC. The Denver Mint accomplished a mintage of nearly 10 million nickels in the series' second year. However, the issue claims an average grade of AU53 and can be a challenge at this Gem level. Mint luster is characteristically satiny over well-struck and mostly brilliant surfaces. The upper reverse border is partly incomplete. PCGS reports 26 finer submissions. CAC: 19 in 65, 5 finer (8/18).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 22RE, PCGS# 3935)
