Sharp Gem 1917-D Buffalo Nickel
1917-D 5C MS65 PCGS. Although the 1917-D is not quite as elusive in Gem condition as some of the later-series S-mint condition rarities, it is seldom seen finer than MS65; PCGS has certified only 13 examples finer (8/08). This example boasts quicksilver surfaces that are largely gold-tinged silver, save for an interesting swath of ice-blue down the buffalo's midsection. A well-struck and thoroughly delightful coin.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22RE, PCGS# 3935, GSID# 3113)
