Description

1918/7-D Nickel, VF20
FS-101, Guide Book Variety

1918/7-D 5C FS-101 VF20 PCGS. A tiny crack that extends off the right side of the Indian's hair braid is one of the diagnostic markers among authentic 1918/7-D nickels. This well-circulated VF20 survivor still shows a strong overdate, and the reverse legends are bold. The bison's head and shoulder are significantly softer, not that it affects the appeal of this example in any way. Nickel-gray with pale golden accents.
Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 10/2019), lot 3495; Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2020), lot 7186.
