Description

1919-D Buffalo Nickel, MS65
Sharp Early Die State Example

1919-D 5C MS65 PCGS. CAC. This is a date often seen with heavy die erosion, making the current coin stand out with its early die state. No metal appears in the fields, and there is no clashing either. The centers show above-average definition, as does the bison's head and horn. The upper headdress feather on the obverse is weak at the tip. Subtle iridescences runs throughout ice-blue, lilac, and champagne toning on each side. Population: 77 in 65 (11 in 65+), 24 finer. CAC: 14 in 65, 5 finer (12/24).(Registry values: N2998)
