Description

1919-D Nickel, Satiny MS65+
Rare CAC-Approved Gem

1919-D 5C MS65+ PCGS Secure. CAC. Leading up to and during the 1920s, the Denver Mint generally had difficult producing high-quality nickels. This high-end Gem 1919-D bucks that reputation with a bold strike from unworn dies and the satiny, mattelike luster that is so appealing coins of this type. No abrasions are seen, and a dusting of champagne toning adds warmth. Finer 1919-D nickels are rare. Population: 61 in 65 (5 in 65+), 20 finer. CAC: 12 in 65, 4 finer (10/17).
