Scarce Near-Gem 1919-S Buffalo Nickel
1919-S 5C MS64 NGC. The 1919-S Buffalo nickel is an available issue, with a reported mintage of 7.5 million pieces. The issue becomes scarce at the Near-Gem level, and specimens in MS65 or better are rare. The present coin shows the obverse weakness always seen on the issue, but the reverse strike is better than average.
