Few Pieces Known Finer
1920-D 5C MS65 NGC. CAC. The 1920-D Buffalo nickel claims a
large mintage of 9.4 million pieces, but the date is challenging in
Gem condition. The present coin has localized strike weakness in a
few areas but counters that with vibrant mint luster and attractive
traces of pale gold and ice-blue toning. Overall visual appeal is
quite strong. Finer coins are rarely offered. Census: 26 in 65, 3
finer (11/17).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2011), lot 3260.
