Description

1920-D Nickel, Luminous MS65+
Few Known Finer

1920-D 5C MS65+ PCGS. Typically seen with a weak strike and lackluster surfaces, the 1920-D Buffalo nickel is a scarce issue in Gem condition, and finer coins are extremely rare. This Plus-graded Gem is indeed high-end for the grade level, and a loupe fails to readily identify any grade-limiting abrasions. A hint of light golden toning graces frosty luster. The usual strike weakness is seen on the bison's shoulder and head, and on the Indian's feathers. Population: 84 in 65 (13 in 65+), 5 finer (4/17).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22RR, PCGS# 3945, Greysheet# 3120)

Weight: 5.00 grams

Metal: 75% Copper, 25% Nickel
