    Description

    1920-S Buffalo Nickel, MS65
    Boldly Struck, Highly Attractive

1920-S 5C MS65 NGC. The year 1920 saw the second-highest coinage of Buffalo nickels at the San Francisco Mint during the first two decades of the design, with nearly 10 million pieces struck. However, few high-grade specimens survived due to poor production quality. The usual flat strike meant the coins were susceptible to handling marks, and slight wear would substantially reduce the remaining design definition. This Gem has a bold strike, far better than usual, with satiny luster and full mint brilliance shining through reddish-gold and pale blue toning. Census: 15 in 65 (1 in 65 ), 3 finer (6/14).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 22RS, PCGS# 3946)

    Weight: 5.00 grams

    Metal: 75% Copper, 25% Nickel
