Description
Superb 1921 Buffalo Nickel
1921 5C MS67 PCGS. While the 1921-P was a generously produced issue with more than 10 million pieces minted, high grade examples such as this one are surprisingly difficult to locate. Only 16 coins have been certified as MS67 by PCGS and eight by NGC with none finer (3/05). The surfaces on this piece are close to perfection with glowing, satin-like mint luster that is covered with ice-blue toning on the obverse and rose coloration around part of the periphery, while the reverse is deeper blue with rich reddish patina interspersed. Sharply struck throughout and an outstanding example of this popular early date.(#3947) (Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22RT, PCGS# 3947, Greysheet# 3086)
Weight: 5.00 grams
