Description
Condition Rarity 1923-S Gem Nickel
1923-S 5C MS65 PCGS. David Lange (2006) writes of the 1923-S nickel: "Despite its relatively low mintage (6.142 million pieces), this date is available in all grades short of gem," and "fully struck pieces are rare." Rainbow toning travels over this Gem, and the design elements are generally well struck, save for the hair on the bison's head and its tail. Lustrous surfaces are well preserved.
