Description

Conditionally Scarce MS66 1924 Nickel

1924 5C MS66 PCGS. The 1924 is an issue that is difficult to accept as a condition rarity. After all, more than 21 million pieces were produced; so high grade, well produced pieces should be plentiful. Right? Not necessarily. Apparently many of this issue were incompletely hubbed and the result is a substandard strike for a Philadelphia coin. This particular piece is sharply defined, especially on the reverse. The luster is also bright and frosted, another trait that is not to be taken for granted on the 1924. Attractively toned also in shades of rose and lilac. Population: 63 in 66, 4 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N1793)
