Description
1924-D Nickel, Lightly Toned MS65+
1924-D 5C MS65+ PCGS. CAC. David Lange calls this "among the least available of the D-Mint nickels," although examples are more accessible in Gem condition than one might think. Finer grades are where the 1924-D becomes a true (and inaccessible) rarity. Both sides are strongly struck with limited peripheral softness. Satiny luster radiates over mostly brilliant, lightly toned surfaces that house few marks for the noted grade. PCGS reports eight finer submissions. CAC: 27 in 65, 1 finer (6/17).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22RY, PCGS# 3952, Greysheet# 3124)
