1925-S Nickel, MS64
Seldom Seen Finer
1925-S 5C MS64 PCGS. CAC. One of the key dates in Choice
condition among regular issues in the Buffalo series, the 1925-S is
also invariably found weakly struck on both sides. On this example,
the obverse is a bit sharper than the reverse, with some notable
softness on the highpoints but with the horn fully defined. The
smooth, satiny luster is overlaid with a light coating of
bluish-gray, with hints of golden and rose coloration in the
protected areas. PCGS has seen 28 finer submissions (2/16).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2003), lot 6185; Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2004), lot 5975; FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2005), lot 5896.
