Description

1925-S Buffalo Nickel, MS65+
Only Two Finer at PCGS

1925-S 5C MS65+ PCGS. CAC. One of the important condition rarities in the Buffalo nickel series is the 1925-S. While the mintage exceeded 6 million coins, few of those survived in higher Mint State grades. Like most Mint State examples, this Gem has indistinct peripheral details with the feather tips, the date, and LIBERTY showing weakness. On the reverse, the tops of the statutory legend are indistinct. However, the mintmark is much sharper than expected. This lovely example, boasting the PCGS Plus designation as well as CAC approval, features full nickel-gray luster under light gold, violet, and iridescent toning. Population: 87 in 65 (8 in 65+), 2 finer. CAC: 12 in 65, 0 finer (7/25).(Registry values: N7079)
