Description
Lovely MS66 1926-D Nickel
1926-D 5C MS66 PCGS. The 1926-D nickel has a decades-long reputation as a challenging issue for those seeking appealing examples; David Lange, for example, writes in The Complete Guide to Buffalo Nickels that while the 1926-D is "... not particularly scarce in most grades, the majority are so poorly struck as to render them undesirable to collectors. Gems are scarce for the same reason ... ."With its uncommonly bright luster and pale blue, lilac, and green-gold toning, this Premium Gem offers fulfilling eye appeal. In addition, the strike is sharp for the issue, particularly on the bison's head; the horn is not only outlined, but rounded as well. Population: 23 in 66, 1 finer (3/09).
