Splendid 1927 Nickel, MS67
1927 5C MS67 NGC. With a mintage approaching 38 million pieces, the 1927 five cent is common in all grades. NGC and PCGS have certified several hundred coins through the MS66 level of preservation. The certified population drops precipitously any finer. The current MS67 displays violet and greenish-gold patina on the obverse, while gold and light green dominate the reverse.
