Description
Conditionally Scarce Choice 1927-S Nickel
1927-S 5C MS64 PCGS. David Lange (2006) writes: "Scarce in mint state, [the] 1927-S is genuinely rare in choice and gem condition." Light rose-yellow patina enhances the surfaces of this Near-Gem representative. The strike is a trifle soft due to the deterioration of the dies. This lustrous and well preserved example is housed in a first-generation PCGS holder. Only 20 pieces have been certified finer by PCGS (7/10).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22SA, PCGS# 3962, GSID# 3131)
