    Description

    1927-S Nickel, Pastel MS65
    Remarkably Sharp, Early Die State

1927-S 5C MS65 NGC. The sharpness of this Gem 1927-S nickel betrays the reputation of San Francisco strikes during this decade. Lovely pastel toning graces satiny surfaces, and there is no immediate evidence of die fatigue. The 1927-S is truly a rarity so technically superb. Gems in general are rare and finer pieces are exceedingly so, but even among these, the eye appeal is seldom comparable to that seen here. Census: 22 in 65 (2 in 65 ), 5 finer (10/17).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 22SA, PCGS# 3962)

    Weight: 5.00 grams

    Metal: 75% Copper, 25% Nickel
