Description
1928-S Nickel, Lightly Toned MS66
Conditionally Rare
1928-S 5C MS66 PCGS. CAC. The 1928-S is a better date in
high grade, being genuinely scarce in MS65 and a major series
rarity any finer. This Premium Gem example represents only the 20th
time that we have handled a coin in this condition, including
multiple reappearances of some examples. Finer representatives of
the date are prohibitively rare. Strike sharpness is far above
average despite slight die erosion in the fields. Both sides offer
light lavender-blue and champagne toning over mostly pristine
surfaces. This is a coin destined for a high-ranking Registry Set.
Population: 11 in 66, 1 finer. CAC: 5 in 66, 0 finer
