Description

1931-S 5C MS66 PCGS. The depression was in full swing, and coinage needs were greatly diminished when this piece was struck. Just 1.2 million nickels were coined at San Francisco in 1931, the only coinage of the denomination that year. This Premium Gem has satiny gold luster with hints of pale blue toning. It is a highly appealing example, seldom found any finer. PCGS has only certified two finer examples (6/10).
