Description

1931-S Buffalo Nickel, MS67
Rare Top-Grade Registry Coin

1931-S 5C MS67 NGC. This piece is among the finest certified 1931-S Buffalo nickels, and it is conditionally rare as such. Delicate champagne toning warms otherwise frosty silver-gray surfaces, which are devoid of bothersome abrasions. The die state is moderately advanced, and there are metal flowlines in the margins on each side, with some strike softness in the centers. Few surface imperfections exist for pedigree marking purposes. The 1931-S is seldom seen at auction in this grade, the last such appearance being a PCGS coin in our 2019 FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2019). Census: 5 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer (6/22).(Registry values: N2998)
