1931-S 5C MS67 PCGS. CAC. The 1931-S nickel, struck in the middle of the Great Depression to a limited mintage of just 1.2 million coins. Only cents, nickels, and dimes were produced in 1931 with no need for higher denomination coins with the exception of the double eagle that was not intended for circulation. During that difficult historical era, small change was most important for commerce. This Superb Gem is an extraordinary example with amazing frosty mint luster and beautiful toning that displays gold and pale blue. Population: 17 in 67, 0 finer.
