Description

1931-S Nickel, Beautifully Toned MS67
Tied for Finest Known

1931-S 5C MS67 PCGS. With a limited mintage of only 1.2 million coins, the 1931-S is a recognized semikey in the series, but examples in circulated levels and lower Mint State grades can be obtained with patience. However, Superb Gems are exceedingly rare. This magnificent coin is arguably the most eye-appealing of the eight MS67 examples known, which include five coins at PCGS and three at NGC (4/15). Both sides showcase a breathtaking array of lavender and ice-blue hues that transition to rose-gold and mint in the margins. Well-struck and impressively preserved, with delicate, satiny luster.(Registry values: N2998)
