    Description

    Popular 1937-D Three-Legged Nickel
    A Coveted Gem Example

1937-D 5C Three-Legged MS65 PCGS. FS-901. The "Three-Legged" 1937-D nickels were discovered soon after their release, and so a number of higher-graded examples are available to contemporary collectors. Even so, the variant is a borderline condition rarity at the Gem level and very rare any better. This MS65 coin, housed in a second-generation PCGS holder, is softly struck but frosty with gold and peach overtones across otherwise nickel-white surfaces. As expected for the grade, both sides are minimally abraded, and the usual missing-foreleg and die rust diagnostics are plain. PCGS has graded only four numerically finer representatives (1/12).
