Description

1938-D/S Buffalo Nickel, MS67+
FS-511 Overmintmark Variety

1938-D/S 5C FS-511 MS67+ PCGS. CAC. The upper serif of an S is visible atop of the primary D mintmark. Closer study reveals repunching of the D also, although on this coin it is faint from die wear near the rim. Moderate die erosion affects the devices and fields, although the strike is still sharp. Warm golden toning encompasses the reverse and cedes to a delicate greenish-silver border on the obverse. Eye appeal is outstanding.
