1938-D/S Buffalo Nickel, MS68
Spectacular Multicolor Toning

1938-D/S 5C FS-511 MS68 NGC. A popular Cherrypickers' variety, available in all grades but rarely as Superb as this impressive MS68 example. Tawny-gold toning merges with rainbow hues on both sides, with lime-green, red-gold, and lilac colors providing exceptional eye appeal. The dual mintmark is multiple-punched D/D/D/S with an S initially impressed into the die, then subsequent D punches applied. This is a sharply struck and essentially unimprovable example. Census: 33 in 68 (8 in 68 , 1 in 68+, 1 in 68+ ), 0 finer (1/19).
