1938-D/S FS-512 Nickel, MS67+
Multicolor Patination
1938-D/S 5C FS-512 MS67+ PCGS. Although less dramatic than
the FS-511 1938-D/D/D/S variety, FS-512 is more impressive than
FS-513 through FS-515, the other recognized 1938-D/S varieties. The
upper curve of the lower loop of an S is obvious within the D, and
a portion of the upper left curve is outside the D beneath the
upper serif. A sharp strike and early die state add to the appeal,
as does the iridescent rose-red, caramel-gold, and lime-green
