    Description

1919-D 5C --Obverse Retained Die Break--MS61 NGC. A thick arc-shaped obverse die break journeys from 10 to 1 o'clock. The die break is identical to that photographed on page 114 of David Lange's third edition of The Complete Guide to Buffalo Nickels. This shimmering better date Buffalo nickel displays gunmetal-blue and chestnut-gold toning. Indifferently struck, as usual for the issue, and the neck has a slender lamination.
