    1937-D Three-Legged Nickel, MS63
Attractive and Problem-Free for the Grade

1937-D 5C Three-Legged, FS-901, MS63 NGC. One has to wonder how Walter Breen knew that a Mr. Young was responsible for overpolishing the reverse die with an emery stick, a Mint procedure that created the now famous and highly collectible Three-Legged variant of the otherwise common 1937-D nickel. Nevertheless, the foreleg of the bison is clearly separated on this example. The surfaces overall are only lightly abraded for an MS63, and each side shows an even layer of golden toning.
