    Mostly Brilliant Uncirculated
    1937-D Three-Legged Buffalo Nickel

1937-D 5C Three-Legged MS61 NGC. Discovered in 1939 by "Cowboy" Franzen, the Three-Legged 1937-D nickel has assumed a semi-key status in the Buffalo nickel series that is similar to the 1909-S VDB and the 1955 Doubled Die cents. This is a well defined example (not always the case) and the surfaces are mostly brilliant with a hint of light yellow. The satiny mint luster is not disturbed by any abrasions that cannot be seen with a magnifier.(Registry values: N1793)
