Republic gold Mu CS 1214 (1852) MS66 ★ NGC, Mandalay mint, KM14, Fr-2. Essentially as-struck quality with the design details on both sides rising to near completion and gorgeous reddish-copper tone sitting atop flashy, naturally granular fields. Because of the eye-catching peacock design, a type that is widely collected, and in this condition, an extreme rarity, qualifying as the single finest graded at NGC. The addition of the ★ designation further confirms this example as truly exceptional. Given its range of attributes, quite possibly the finest known.Ex. Lawrence Adams Collection
