    Description

Attractive 1814 Bust Dime in Late Die State, MS64

1814 10C Large Date MS64 NGC. JR-3, R.2. Medium gray surfaces with hues of iridescent olive, golden, and russet toning in the fields surrounding the bust, and some variegated russet toning on the reverse. Very late die state, with a small obverse die crack from the rim to the eighth star, and more prominent reverse cracks, including several through the shield and eagle. The most obvious reverse cracks are through the first T in STATES, the first U in PLURIBUS, beak, and shield, and another from the rim through D in UNITED, the scroll, and the beak. A fascinating die state that ought to be of interest to the variety specialist. Overall, this is simply a very attractive coin for the grade with no distinctive flaws. (NGC ID# 236W, PCGS# 4488)
