1821 Large Date Dime, MS64
JR-1, Clean and Attractively Toned
1821 10C Large Date, JR-1, R.2, MS64 PCGS. CAC. JR-1 shows
star 8 nearly touching the peak of Liberty's cap, and the D in
UNITED aligned with the beginning of the scroll. This is one of
seven Large Date die marriages. Three Small Date varieties are also
known. The obverse displays violet and olive-gray patina with
iridescent splashes around the borders. Similar colors grace the
reverse in more of a mottled fashion. The hair curls are sharp, as
are the right-side stars. Clean for the grade.Population (all varieties): 22 in 64, 2 finer. CAC: 6 in 64, 3 finer (2/19).
